Did you know that one female mouse can have 5 babies per liter? A female mouse can give birth to an additional 5 baby mice 10 times a year. During her lifetime female mouse can produce more than 160 babies. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Baby mice mature in just four weeks and can then start producing baby mice of their own. The result is that when you first hear the first sounds of mice in your attic you may think you have just one or two and so you might procrastinate. But stop and do the math and you can see that what starts as a single pregnant mouse in your attic could end up as thousands of mice in less than a year. For those of you who might live here only seasonally the math should be a big concern.
